Hand crafted since 1974 by John Glaetzer, one of the Doyen winemaker's of Australia. John's Blend continues the tradition that John established with Wolf Blass in 1974 -great red wines full of soft, succulent fruit, matured in the finest oak.
For many years while working with Wolf Blass, John would pull batches of fruit from his beloved Langhorne Creek and bottle his own parcel of wine under his own simple label and sell it through to fellow wine-makers, industry power-brokers and those select few in the know. It is only recently, since his depature from Wolf Blass, has the production been slightly increased to ensure we have access to this man's passion for the Cabernet from Langhorne Creek.
The secret of John's Blend is John Glaetzer's constant pursuit of excellence in every aspect of production. Small batches of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the rich alluvial soils of Langhorne Creek are crushed, fermented, pressed and blended into oak hogsheads for maturation.
A select, super premium label with limited production, John's Blend is the classic Australian red wine. Rich, round and structured is the simplest descriptor.
