Description
Tyson Stelzer in his Champagne Guide says.....
With just three percent chardonnay, this is effectively a blanc de noirs with a high dosage (12.5g/L of sweetness). It hasn't gone through malolactic fermentation, which keeps it clean and balanced on the finish. It's a sweet little cheapie Champagne in a richer style, loaded with flavours of pineapple chunks, fleshy white peaches and zesty grapefruit.
Some of the Judges' Comments from the 2010 Sydney International Wine Competion......
Chuck Hayward says....
Very fresh and lively. What you'd expect in a sparkling wine. Very complex on both the nose and the palate. The vibrancy and youthfulness made it very appealing. It's not weighed down at all by oxidative or aged characters which makes it very appealing as an aperitif. With food, a couple of oxidised notes popped up but overall it was a very good match.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown says....
Moderate intensity of honeyed aromatic fruit. A little grapey. On the palate, medium acidity and a short to medium finish
