Les Griottes means "small cherries"; exactly the kind of fruit character that you will find in spades in this juicy wine. The nose has violets, blue berries, black currants and cherries with a hint of bay leaf. On the palate there is juicy texture, suppleness of fruit and crunchy, bright acidity. Flavours of red currants, earth and some herbal characters help provide more depth and complexity than you might expect to see in a 'junior' Beaujolais. Fine grained tannins give a subtle backbone and length. Delicious and poised.
