The Pict is a 100% Mataro cuvee from this prestigious Barossan winery. Mataro (otherwise known as Mourvedre) is French variety, traditionally from the Languedoc. Enjoying success now in our climate, Torbreck are at the forefront of premium Mataro in Australia. Parker gives the wine 95 points and says 'Inky blue purple in colour, phenomenally intense blueberry and blackberry characteristics, and hints of black truffles as well as fresh mushrooms. Deep and full bodied with superb fruit and the right amount of sweet tannin'. Experts agree this wine should age gracefully for around 15 years and is now beginning to enter its prime drinking window. This truly is another ultra intense wine of the highest calibre.
